Daring to Think Again

First off, I did not know that this was a companion book. Of course, I will be getting the first book now, The Fifth Way. In this book, Dave Brisbin challenges us to shed and question what we think we know about Jesus and the world that has been constrained by our traditions which naturally forms our world view. It is a book that invites us to explore, challenge, question and wrestle with the way of Jesus…the Aramaic Jesus, not some watered-down Western view. We are asked to take a fresh look and “become willing to sell everything we think we know and everything we grasp for support.” Strangely, by letting go we get closer to God. There isn’t anything in the way anymore. This book is not a page turner, one needs to sit and digest it slowly and it is a worthy challenge.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the author and/or publisher through the Speakeasy blogging book review network. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own
