In this book Dr Kim O’Reilly tries to bridge the divided gap of Christianity and Homosexuality. She seeks to bring those who are divided, together and seek a discussion around the topic instead of the usual Us vs Them mentality. I found it to be a good intro book into the subject. Dr O’Reilly grew up in a conservative evangelical household and is herself gay. She provides some of her story as a jumping off spot. I found the fact that she knows both worlds to be helpful and lend a credence to her writing. The chapters are broken nicely into themes and are easy to read. She provides information and footnotes so one can research more if they choose. As I had stated earlier, this is a good intro book. It presents a basic understanding of both sides so each side and understand each other and build on common ground with dialogue with hate, contempt and name calling. It is a step in the right to conversation and maybe in the end we agree to disagree, but treat each other with respect and love as children of God.
